Slow Cooker Recipes - Lamb Tagine with Apricots

As we have an abundance of garlic and onion from the allotment, I am trying to find lots of different recipes.  Am not normally a fan of fruit in main food (I know) but had this before without knowing about the apricots, and loved it!  I messed around with a few recipes and came up with my own version which was delicious and a "winner" according to Chris!
Ingredients
1 tablespoon of olive oil (though I used Rapeseed I got from a farm)
700g lamb fillet diced or ready-diced lamb
1 onion
2 garlic cloves
2.5cm fresh root ginger (I used the cheater version)
2 tbs plain flour
600ml lamb stock
1 ts ground cinnamon
2 large pinches of saffron threads
75g apricots diced
40g toasted flaked almonds
Method
Heat the oil in the frying pan and brown the lamb all over.  Transfer to the slow cooker.
Add the onion, garlic and ginger to the pan and fry over a medium heat for 5 minutes.
Mix in the flour then slowly stir in the stock.
Add the spices and apricots and bring to the boil stirring.
Spoon into the slow cooker, cover and cook on low for 8-10 hrs.
Stir,in the flaked almonds and serve.
I served mine with a rocket salad and Chris's with cous cous but he'd taken it and eaten it before I could take a pic :)
Enjoy!

Fish Recipe - Simple Spicy Marinade :)

This is a great recipe to spice up some boring white fish.   Did it last night and it was amazing, even Chris loves it - he normally rolls his eyes when I mention fish!
This was enough for two, can be doubled up!
Ingredients:
White fish of your choice!
1 chilli to suit taste, I used the 1 I'd grown
2tbs chopped coriander
2 garlic cloves
4 tbsp natural yoghurt
Method:
Whizz together the chilli, coriander, garlic and yoghurt to make the marinade.
Place fish on foil and cover both sides with marinade.
Fold up foil losely, securing ends, and put in fridge for at least an hour.
Bake at 200c (400f) for about 15 mins.

Easy, quick and very, very tasty!

Gooner OH taking a Hat-Trick against the Spurs!

We were at Lollibop, had a great time, but to reduce it back to football, Chris felt compelled to score against the Spurs!
He also felt the need to dedicate it to @MattBigg - childish, oh yeah!

Should there be a watershed on twitter`

Well of course I don't think there should be a watershed on Twitter, but I think we need to be aware of minors that we allow to follow.  That sounds terrible from a girl who drank in pubs from the age of 14, but older and wiser and now a mummy I tend to be a "not on my watch kinda gal".
Being as I present myself as a QPR fan, I tend to get excited at finding new QPR followers, and I have ended up with some teenage followers.  That leaves me with the dilemma of not being able to be completely me in the adult form, worrying what impression I might leave.  After all I'm allowed to be an adult right?  Surely I've earned the right at the age of *coughs*!
Anyhow, I would like to think it is down to all of us making judgement calls and if necessary blocking youngsters if we are going to be allowed free reign to be ourselves, particularly if we can be a bit um sweary or contraversial?
I believe twitter has to be pretty much self policing, lets all be responsible! End of sermon, but still um scratching head!
Thanks for listening!

Stockwood Park Discover Centre - Recycling Exhibition

We often go to Stockwood Park Discovery Centre, as it is free to enter, its an excellent resource, with a fab playground and museum, which the children love!
We went this week and, after being mugged of an ice cream, from the ice cream van outside - went in and spent hours playing and walking around.
I particularly enjoyed revisiting the Truck Art that we had seen before!  This pic doesn't do it justice, as the colours are magnificent!
We also enjoyed the permanent display in another room showing local artefacts from the local area through the ages.  There is a postcard on a pillar which always makes me smile!
I nearly left before realising that they had the most brilliant recycling exhibition on, entitled Treasures From Trash!  Unfortunately at this point my two decided they were too tired for any more, so I couldn't get the most out of it, but will certainly go back!  The initiative and the colours hit you as soon as you enter!  Next time I will be going there before the playground!
Enjoy!
